Rafique Ullah and Rahma will remain in detention following the postponement of their case this morning.
Their case was postponed after the resident magistrate in Phalaborwa got sick and could not report to work.
The judicial administration called a magistrate of Lulekani to assist in the postponement procedure of the case. The case was deferred until June 15 for bail.
Rafique Ullah and Rahman were arrested after allegedly attempting to bribe community activist Edmond Mbetse of Speak Out Phalaborwa.
The two Bangladeshi citizens allegedly offered Mbetse R10,000 to convince the family of a 10-year-old victim who was raped by Akter Hosain (36) in May 2022.
Mbetse claimed that the two suspects promised to give the family of the victim R15 000 to drop the charges against, Hosain.
Mbetse has allegedly lured the suspects and they were arrested.
