Glory Misola Hlungwana (49), employed as a security guard at Shihoko Clinic outside Tzaneen who was arrested for allegedly shooting her colleague several times, briefly appeared before the Nkowankowa Magistrates court on Friday, 14 August 2020. Hlungwana is facing a charge of murder after her victim succumbed to his injuries few days after the incident.
The suspect was denied bail and the case was postponed until 16 September 2020 for further police investigations.
The victim was apparently on duty together with the suspect posted at the premises when she allegedly shot him several times using a service pistol and fled the scene.
The suspect was tracked down and found at her boyfriend’s place at Shihoko and arrested. She was still dressed in uniform. The firearm that is believed to be the one used in the shooting was also confiscated.
Limpopo police says that the motive for the incident is not known at this point and police investigations are still continuing.
