MEC Rakgoale visits the bereaved family of the 14-year-old boy at Nghezimani village

The MEC for Social Development, Nkakareng Rakgoale has reacted with shock to the death of a 14-year-old boy who was attacked and killed by a man at Nghezimani village outside Malamulele township.

It is alleged that the man attacked 7 children at their homestead with an axe and one of them succumbed to injuries and died on Saturday.

The MEC Rakgoale who was accompanied by the local mayor, Moses Maluleke visited the bereaved family.

The MEC has urged community members to work together with the authorities to fight against domestic violence.

“As the department we are very worried about the continuous killings of our children. We are calling on all our community members who are experiencing difficulties in their lives to approach our social workers for assistance. 

“I want to take this opportunity to offer my condolences to the bereaved  family and also wish a speedy recovery to the other six victims who got injured during the attack. 

“We are once again calling on the justice system to deal harshly with the perpetrators  of violence against our vulnerable women and children”,  said MEC Rakgoale.
