Manizo’s Case Postponed Until June For A Bail Application

A murder case against Thabo Makgola (34) known as Manizo in the entertainment industry has been postponed until 03 June. He made his second appearance in the Bolobedu Magistrate’s Court on Monday alongside his companions.


He was arrested amongst five suspects a week ago after meticulous investigations into the murder of Kgaogelo Maake.

Police said Bad Company Music Band leader was amongst the group of people drinking in one of the homes in the village of Morutji under Tzaneen police area on 1 March 2022 when he allegedly shot Kgaogelo.

The deceased, Kgaogelo Maake (23) from Mamotintane village in Mankweng died on arrival at Letaba hospital, police said. Manizo had fled after the incident.

A team of investigators was assembled to probe the murder. Members of the Tzaneen Tracing Team (TTT) received the information on the whereabouts of Manizo.

The information led the police to Mohlakamosoma village under Bolobedu policing area where Manizo was found hiding at his aunt’s place. He was immediately apprehended, police said.

Police have also arrested two more suspects whom are said to be the companions of Manizo and recovered two firearms with serial numbers also filed off.

Buster Thusa Rampya (30) and Laughter Makgobatlou (38) were also remanded in custody until 01 June for a bail application.

The two have been charged with possession of illegal firearms and ammunition.

“The firearms that have been recovered will be subjected to ballistic investigations to determine if they were previously used in the commission of other crimes”, said Brigadier Motlafela Mojapelo.
