A young visionary educator from Khupani Primary School in Matsakali village outside Malamulele township, Mr Agrey khanyi achieved his goal to be a published author. His first published book titled “WHY ME LORD – Trusting God even when life does not make sense” has sold over 600 books in under 3 months and is poised to sell even more.
His motive for writing the book is to empower others through his difficult lifelong journey from childhood. Through this riveting yet solemn story, the author narrates the agony and misfortune of losing family members to death one after another during the early years of his life. He said this led him to ask, “Why me Lord. “He says that it is not wrong to ask God why when going through difficulties, as it is God’s will to help us when in trouble.
He says he has seen the pain and devastation of losing loved ones year-on-year and has also seen others go through similar pain of losing their parents, spouses, partners and children. He says the calamity that befell his family has strengthen his resolve and build his character to persevere and help others in similar situation to face their challenges and find healing.
“In order to succeed in life, you must remain true to yourself and have a positive attitude. If you are out there in the world and have the ability to write books, do not be fearful, nor compare yourself to others, instead learn from other people and show forth your own talent and creativity” he posited. He went further to dispel the myth that there are no ardent readers of books anymore. “it is not true that people no longer read books”.
