A well-known Giyani based Xilumani Holdings Boss, Howard Mashaba is in trouble again with the law.

Apparently, it’s not for the first time  the businessman who owns a fleet of buses to find himself in a predicament situation resulting in an assault scandal.

During his interview on Mughana Lonene FM (MLFM) in 2018 following the reports on the death of 3 people who passed on during the popular #FillUpGiyaniStadium festival in September which he was an organizer.

Mashaba, told his interviewer that he used shambukas as a measure of controlling the situation.

Limpopo police spokesperson, Colonel Moatshe Ngoepe who was also a part of the show has strongly condemned the use of shambukas.

“Beating those who were “found” to be contravening the festival rules, it’s a crime.”

However, there were no charges pressed against Mashaba in the matter.

On Saturday (yesterday) afternoon, he was somewhat alleged to have assaulted Police Detective, Sydney Maringa and his brother, Normal Maringa  after tempers flared in a road rage incident.

The two brothers were traveling in a police vehicle during the alleged road rage which took place in D1, Four-way stop, next to Nkwangulatilo education center some few meters outside Giyani town.

Maringa family spokesman, Mike Maringa told Giyani View that they have opened a case of assault GBH and malicious damage to property against Mashaba.

“The police vehicle which they were travelling in was damaged. I took them to Nkhesani Hospital for medical treatment and brother, Normal was admitted after Howard Mashaba and his thug bouncers assaulted them”. Fumed Maringa.

The Only Informer in town has been reliably informed that one of the Giyani SAPS chief who doesn’t work on weekends rushed to the station after Mashaba alleged that Maringa had pointed him with a firearm.

At this stage, it’s not yet clear if, Mashaba had a personal relationship with the Giyani SAPS chief officer.

Our reliable source, however, has revealed that Mashaba has opened a counter charge after he claimed that he was pointed with a firearm.

Maringa family has vowed to take the matter to IPID.

Mashaba wasn’t reached for a comment at the time of going to press.
