The dynamic multi-genre artist who produces, composes, writes, performs, sing and also plays a variety of musical instruments is confident that his upcoming project will make people to sit up and take notice of his authentic talent.

Killo Chauke started developing the love of music in the late 90s and started playing instruments at church from the tender age of 13.

“I started composing and writing songs at the age of 14. I recorded few songs back then but they were never released,” he said.

Around 2017, he released an Afro pop single titled “you are the one”, which enjoyed airplay on Munghana Lonene FM and several local radio stations in Limpopo.

“In 2019, I started producing most of my work and managed to release another Afro soul and Jazz single dubbed “Jocolinah”, which is found on all digital platforms. The song was released at the end of March 2020 and is receiving air play on local and nation radio stations across the country.”

“My first extended play record (EP) album titled “Byala” will be released as soon as the lockdown ends. I worked with Freedom Shirinda on this project as my co-producer”.

“What inspired me to name the album “byala” is seeing how people behave after drinking. In the EP, there is a song that I wrote to remind people that they shouldn’t lose themselves after drinking alcohol and in the process behave and handle themselves in an unbecoming manner,” he said.

In his production, Killo has done a variety of genres which includes pop, afro pop, afro beat, afro soul, afro jazz, marabenta, disco and House. Some of his other released hit singles include “vahlengwe” and “Dolly Dolly”.
