Malamulele United walked away having amassed full three points in the Vhembe Stream A SAB League clash against Xigalo Home Defenders FC.
The solitary goal of the match was scored five minutes before the final whistle, which then gave United a hard fought victory.
The United coach Aubrey Maluleke told the reporters in the pre-match interview that despite having a good record over Xigalo giants, it was not going to be easy on the field of play.
“It was a tough game as I said it before the game,’’ Maluleke told reporters after match.
“Both teams wanted it more and we were very lucky to get a goal during the dying stages of the game,” he said.
Although it was their away game, Maluleke believed in his boys until Rantie capitalized with a late chance to give United an odd goal lead and it was a little too late for the home team to equalize.
Both teams pressed each other in search of goal scoring opportunity which had gone begging as they failed to convert the chances.
“Muxe Rantie scored our only goal five minutes before the final whistle. Both teams had chances but failed to convert them because in some instances, the players were rushing and that resulted in missing those perfect chances,” concluded Maluleke.
