Four people have died and nine were seriously injured in a head-on collision on the R71 last night.
A Toyota minibus collided head-on with a Ford Sedan near the Five Air Special base at Namakgale outside Phalaborwa. The Department of Transport and Community Safety Spokesperson, Mike Maringa said the driver of the Sedan and a passenger from the minibus were certified dead on the scene.
“Two other passengers succumbed to injuries upon their arrival at the hospital. Preliminary investigations revealed speeding and reckless and negligent driving as the possible cause of the accident. The injured were rushed to the Local Maphuta Malatjie hospital”.
