Fans have shared mixed feelings following Penny Penny’s new ditty titled Madam Speaker.

Sunday World on Friday, 13 May 2022 reported that the SABC has swallowed its pride and apologized to legendary Shangaan disco king Penny Penny.

In a letter seen by Sunday World, the public broadcaster said it has extended an olive branch to the artist after a meeting it had with him on Wednesday.

Penny Penny took umbrage and threatened to withdraw all his songs from the SABC after Munghana Lonene FM’s music compiler refused to play his new ditty titled Madam Speaker, and said it did not meet its required standard.

On social media, a large number of the Vatsonga tribe backed the SABC for refusing to play the song.

They stated that the song is not up to the standard required to be played even on community radio stations.

Mixo Maluleke took to Facebook to criticize the song: “Track liya i thyaka na leka community radio station ayi fit man”.

Samuel Khazamula Bila commented on a post shared on Giyani’s Facebook page about the song, and he wrote:

Everything has its expiring date, with all meekness and humbleness Papa Penny musical have reached a dead end.

What he does now is something else, it’s atrocious to listen to it.

With that said I fully understand that the SABC has a Constitutional mandate in terms of its license to play every garbage no matter what.

And in this instance the music compiler was out of line.
