Disgruntled Residents Of Botsolweni Protest Against Ex-policeman

Residents of Botsolweni village staged a protest on 13 January 2020, outside Seselamani Magistrate’s Court calling for a former policeman, who is accused of murder, to be denied bail. 

The former police officer, Nokie Makhuva appeared in court on Monday, 13 January 2020 in connection with the murder of a school teacher. It is alleged that that the accused hacked the victim with a panga following an argument over the deceased promiscuous behaviour. The accused alleges that the deceased had sexual relations with his partner(s). 

The angry residents are demanding that the accused should rot in jail. The court adjourned the proceedings, and the accused is expected to appear in court again on 23 January 2020.
