The South African Police Service in Letsitele outside Tzaneen are investigating a case of inquest following the gruesome discovery of the bodies of a couple at Nkambako village in the early hours of Monday, 23 November 2020.
It is reported that the relatives of the deceased tried to contact them for days, but they were not responding to the calls.
“The family then decided to go to the house of the man. On arrival, they forced open the door and they were welcomed by a bad smell coming from the house.
“A 36-year-old man and a 29-year-old woman were found lying dead on the bed in a state of decomposition. The deceased were identified as Phindile Rikhotso and Lucky Ramahlabane.
“The motive behind this incident is not clear at this stage, but domestic related violence may not be ruled out.
“The cause of death is currently unknown and will be determined by the postmortem examination that will still be conducted.
“The police investigations are still continuing”, added Colonel Moatshe Ngoepe.
