The N’wamitwa-based community radio station, VISION FM has officially launched its frequency (92.8) for the Ba-Phalaborwa communities. The Ba-Phalaborwa communities can now be able to tune into the station from today, 07 August 2020. The launch was held at Mashishimale entrance next to the R71 road where their frequency was established on Wednesday.
“The station aims to facilitate development in Mopani,” CEO and founder of the station, Erasmus Malungane stated. Pastor Malungane, as he is popularly known, added that the station is committed to broadcasting news that is fair, accurate and free, for the benefit of all the local people.
Ba-Phalaborwa Mayor, Merriam Malatji said that VISION FM will be a pillar of economic growth in the community. “We want to hear the promotion of local talent, local businesses and traders, which in turn can also create employment,” she said. The radio station will cover all communities in the Mopani District Municipality. The Mayor was accompanied by the Speaker Eric Hlungwane, Chief Whip Didodo Rapatsa and Municipal Manager, Dr Kgoshi Lucas Pilusa.
