MEC for Social Development, Nkakareng Rakgoale, Greater Giyani Municipality Mayor Agnes Shivambu and Dr. K.S Maluleke have handed over a house to a family of 26 people living in abject poverty at Mageva village, Ka- Dzumeri outside Giyani.
It’s understood that the Sithole family was adopted by the trio after they learnt about the dire situation through a Community Development Worker in 2018.
The child headed family used to be cramped into a two bedroom house and a mud room before the intervention was made.
The family members consist of children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
