Palabora Mining Company officially handed over a project to a contractor to rehabilitate Park Street in Phalaborwa.
The black owned local contractor started with the work on 13 January 2020.
Palabora Copper’s Transformation and Stakeholder Engagement Manager, Abby Ledwaba said this is an integral part of the Social and Labour Plan(LED) Project for community development in Phalaborwa.
He also outlined other projects that were completed, and those that Palabora Copper plan to do in 2020.
Ledwaba further mentioned that the Selwane road construction in Selwane Village will commence soon, and that a tender is due to be awarded before the end of this month.
He also mentioned the projects to be implemented by PC for this year, which are Meyer Street rehabilitation in Phalaborwa, building of a clinic at Prisca Village(Gravelotte), ablution facility at ST Patrick Mathibela Primary School in Makhushane, upgrading of block D at Matome Malatji High School in Maseke, kitchen facility at Makhushane Primary School, kitchen facility, ablution and borehole at Bollanoto Tourism Information Centre.
Ba-Phalaborwa Municipality Mayor, Cllr Merriam Malatji thanked Palabora Copper for their support in partnering with the Municipality to accelerate and improve essential services to the Phalaborwa Communities.
